This starry night sky is done in shades of purple with just a hint of pink creates a lovely atmosphere. Sprinkled with stars the sky is the main feature in this painting. The trees and cottage are in silhouette against the bright night sky but still show hints of purple colour.

I had so much fun painting this sky. I got to play with my glazing medium, building up the clouds in the sky to give that moody night time feel. Purple makes a great night colour giving the painting more interest than just using black. I mixed my own shade of purple so I could add lots of variety to the colour throughout the painting.
